The Kia Forte technology begins under the hood with its two powertrain options. The LX, LXS, and GT Line trims come with a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. This engine is paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) to achieve the EPA-estimated fuel rating of 30 MPG in the city and 41 MPG on the highway. With this impressive fuel rating, the Kia Forte range is up to 570 miles on the highway.

Drivers who want affordability and plenty of driving fun can choose the Kia Forte GT. This trim is the only one that comes with a turbocharged 1.6-liter four-cylinder that delivers 201 horsepower and 195 lb-ft of torque. The Forte GT is available with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission or a six-speed manual. If you choose the GT with an automatic transmission, the EPA-estimated fuel rating is 27/35 MPG, while the Forte GT manual gets an EPA-estimated fuel efficiency rating of 22/31 MPG.
