The New 2025 Kia Sorento Hybrid Review

Kia’s 2025 Sorento offers Hybrid and plug-in hybrid models. The plug-in hybrid has the most power with 261-hp and up to 32 miles of electric driving capability. Kia offers the Sorento hybrid EX and EX PHEV, and the Sorento hybrid SX Prestige and SX Prestige PHEV trims.

All trims have an upgraded interior and improved infotainment system, while the SX Prestige trims provide nice touches, like heated front seats. Stylish updates have been added to modernize the Sorento’s exterior. And, tech features are plentiful, with connectivity and driver assistance technology standard on all models.

Performance and Safety Features of Kia’s New Sorento Hybrid

The Sorento hybrid offers the best fuel economy powered by a six-speed automatic transmission and 1.6-liter turbocharged gas engine with an electric motor combining for 227-hp. And, front-wheel drive is standard with available all-wheel drive. Standard all-wheel drive and a combined 261-hp offers a more powerful setup for the plug-in hybrid.

Kia includes a number of standard safety assist features on both the hybrid and plug-in hybrid Sorento trims. Automated emergency braking, lane-keeping assist, and blind-spot monitoring come standard. And, all trims are equipped for additional available driver assistance features, like adaptive cruise control and a feature for lane-centering.

Kia’s latest Sorento is solidly built with quality materials and an appealing interior layout, including various cubby storage areas. Seat inserts, stitched door panel surfaces, and ambient lighting provide an upscale look and feel.
